Meet the Team... The ProLogis Property Managers
The ProLogis UK property management team looks after more than 70 buildings across 15 estates, from Barnsley to Thurrock. Its members work with every in-house department, assisting with forward planning and managing each site after completion. Once a property is ready to be handed over to the customer, the baton is passed from the “project” to the “property” managers to deal with any issues and ensure customer satisfaction. After handover, the team liaises with landscaping, maintenance and security contractors to oversee the smooth running of the site.
“We like to stay in close contact with customers, to ensure they get everything they need,” says Sam Lawrence, who was recently promoted to head up the UK property management team. “The property portfolio is split and I look after London and the South East, while Wayne Porter covers the Midlands and the North. Our work is wide ranging; as well as running each site we can deal with any number of client queries and also look after leases, insurance, annual inspections and rent reviews.”
Team support comes from Cherry Lissemore, who has been working for the department for more than seven years, and a recent addition, Geoffrey Weekes. The team is rapidly expanding: Rynagh Richards has been promoted to building manager for the Solihull headquarters and a green travel plan co-ordinator has been added to the ranks.
Sam is enjoying the challenges of his new role in charge of the UK team. “We’re currently recruiting a facilities manager to look after our park management and inventory buildings and we’re also planning to take on someone to manage my share of the portfolio,” he says. “This will free me up to focus on key customers in terms of leased space and annual rent, as well as working on forward-looking projects.”
